The Oregon wheat industry raises primarily soft white wheat that is best used in cakes, pastries, pancake mix and similar products, as well as Asian noodles and Egyptian flatbreads. High demand of this product overseas is the primary reason that 85% of the wheat grown in Oregon is exported.
